CHROMANCER: The Started Hare LLC Posted project update #8 An Art Update - Check Out These Amazing Pieces!

Hi Chromancer fans,
We're heading into our third day here at PAX, and we've made lots of connections and hopefully some new fans. The convention is going great -- we're in the Indie Megabooth area, alongside many other fellow Indie companies. The environment is wonderful, full of people who are all about fledgling ideas and companies trying to make great games.
The only drawback to having (virtually) the whole team on the showfloor all day, of course, is that we're not more active on our forums and in Kickstarter updates. We will definitely update you all on PAX specifically and what's been happening here pretty soon, and we'll have more playtesting and other content upgrades for next week, but in the meantime we want to give everyone a little treat!
As you know we are incredibly thrilled about our amazing game art (and we really need this Kickstarter campaign to succeed in order to get more of it!) One of our artists, Joshua Calloway, has done an absolutely phenomenal job with our 8 basic field cards. You've already seen two of them in The Workshop over at the site, but we thought we'd put together a Kickstarter update with all eight fields for your viewing pleasure!
Also if you like our art, don't forget to vote in our Facebook poll of Chromancer art (today is your last chance!)
Enjoy!

CHROMANCER Adaptive Strategy Online Trading Card Game: by The Started Hare LLC Update #7 · Aug 27, 201

We've Added More Prizes to our Reward Tiers!

Dear friends,
We've been chatting with a lot of our backers and potential backers about the reward tiers, and have listened to your suggestions. We spent some time trying to figure out how best to reward our early adopters -- to figure out what would make sense both for adopters and for the health of the game economy when we launch.
We are pleased to announce two things:
First, we are introducing a new limited edition Kickstarter set of cards to Chromancer. This set, called Kickstarter Exclusive, consists of all the same cards in our 300-card release set, but with special and unique card design. Theonly way to get cards from this set will be to be a Kickstarter backer. Once Kickstarter is over, we will not create any more copies of this set! The cards will be tradable like everything else, but of course will increase in value over time. Note that all of the already-existing rewards still include cards from our regular set, The Primeval™. The Kickstarter Exclusive cards are only available in the Kickstarter Exclusive booster packs being added to every tier as explained below.

Expansion: Capital Ships/Crews in Epic Space Online

We're adding a new aspect to this MMO set in an Infinite Universe -- "Capital Ships" -- crewed by you and your mates.
"A top-down 2D shooter, that’s also a sandbox MMO, and space trading game. This is one of my favourite things about Kickstarter – it’s basically allowing for every mad genre cocktail to have an opportunity to be explored." - John Walker, Rock Paper Shotgun
Capital Ships are the Largest Ships in the Universe, requiring a crew of real people to manage easily.
Capital Ships are the Largest Ships in the Universe, requiring a crew of real people to manage easily.
Epic Space Online hosts players in a single universe with absolutely no borders or boundaries. You can fly in any direction in a procedurally generated universe.
The game is incredibly deep with too many aspects to cover at once, but anyone can scratch the surface and start flying, trading, and building space stations now. (Soon on the iPad)

About the Project:

We're going to be bringing Capital Ships to Epic Space Online. These will be the largest ships in the game and will require not just you to operate, but an actual crew of real people!

CHROMANCER :The Started Hare LLC Posted project update #6 Campaign Status Report

Campaign Status Report

Hello everyone,

We want to give you an update on how the campaign is going, what we are planning in the 3 remaining weeks, and what you can do to help.

So what have we done to date? Well, it's fairly self-evident if you're looking at our page! We've raised just a bit over $12.1k out of a total funding goal of $60k. That's 20%! Why is this significant? Well, one of the stats that we've read while browsing the all-knowing internet is the following:

Of the projects that have reached 20% of their funding goal, 82% have been successfully funded. Of the projects that have reached 60% of their funding goal, 98% have been successfully funded.

So we have 3 weeks to go, with (according to the statistics) a decent chance at making our funding goal.   Now just because the stats say one thing doesn't mean it'll happen by itself. There are a few things (well, more like many things) that we're doing to turn the momentum back in our favor, but there are also things that you can do, and that we need you to do!

What we're planning:
  • We just had a really great playtest today. More than 20 new players signed on and we played a bunch of games from 1-3pm. Feedback was good, mostly around user interface issues that we are already fixing and will be implementing in a couple of days.
  • In the coming week we will be releasing a host of new content, including the Lore section of our website, new artwork, borders, as well as the upgraded version of the UI. We will be hosting at least one livestream and possibly another playtest if we can fit it in.
  • On Wednesday, we'll all be leaving for PAX Prime in Seattle, which means we'll be a little light on updates for the following 5 days. However, we will be showing our game in the Indie MEGABOOTH to thousands of potential players, we have interviews set up with members of the press, and we'll be networking our butts off trying to get as much exposure for Chromancer as we can. The idea is to get as much press coverage as possible at PAX as well as players signed up and excited about the game in order to have a strong finish in the last 2 weeks of the campaign after we get back.
In the meantime we'll have a constantly developing game, we'll show our progress off, and hopefully we'll excite enough people that we'll crush this thing!

Omni: Move Naturally in Your Favorite Game by Virtuix

This news is from Omni thereself.
The Omni enables you to move naturally and freely in virtual worlds. Get fully immersed in your favorite game!

Experience full virtual reality

We are in the midst of a revolution in virtual reality. The release of affordable head mounted displays and low-cost sensor technologies has brought the decades-old dream of true virtual reality closer than ever, but there’s still one more piece to the puzzle: the Omni.
The Omni takes virtual reality to the next level— allowing anyone to stand up and traverse virtual worlds with the natural use of their own feet. The Omni is the first virtual reality interface for moving freely and naturally in your favorite game. Moving naturally in virtual reality creates an unprecedented sense of immersion that cannot be experienced sitting down. That's why we developed the Omni.

Stay in shape while gaming

Walk, run, jump, crouch: the Omni will keep you on your feet and in motion. It’s a healthier way to game — working out has never been this much fun. Our software even tracks your distance traveled and calories burned along the way.
The Omni will free gamers from passive, seated gameplay, unleashing the full potential of virtual reality gaming with the Oculus Rift and future head mounted displays. Gaming on a keyboard, mouse or gamepad while seated pales in comparison to the intense experience and fun that comes from actually running and jumping in games.

In the press

  • “Jaw-dropping virtual reality” – PC Gamer
  • “Impressive and probably the single best reason to ever play Skyrim without fast travel” – Kotaku
  • “Ladies and gentlemen, you’re looking at the future of gaming” – Road To VR
  • “If you really want that full-motion experience, what you'll need is a gaming rig that lets you walk around as well. Enter the Virtuix Omni” – The Escapist
  • “Try resist throwing money at the screen” – Engadget

VR in every living room

The Omni is the first natural motion interface focused on consumers: it is affordable, fits in a living room, and is the only way to walk, run, jump and crouch in your favorite game.
The Omni is a fully integrated VR interface that comes with sophisticated tracking hardware and software and is ready to play, out of the box, with any game or app that uses keyboard input. The Omni is compatible with the Oculus Rift and Razer Hydra or other game controllers. That means that any game currently in development for the Oculus Rift will be ready to play with the Omni. An extensive collection of game demos is available on our website and YouTube channel.
The Omni is easy to disassemble and store: the top is removable and the Omni can be stowed just like exercise equipment. The ring height and belt size are adjustable: small, tall, big or thin, everyone can use and enjoy the Omni.
The Omni comes with Omni shoes, support belt, and tracking hardware and software. Head mounted display, game controllers, and PC not included.

Mother of Myth

Mother of Myth is a high-quality social action role-playing game developed for smartphones, tablets and web browsers.
Mother of Myth is an action role-playing game inspired by Greek and Roman mythology which puts the player into the heart of some of these classic stories. In thisbeautifully rendered 3D environment, you will learn how to be a rhapsodist, a hero who harnesses the power of spirits to defeat enemies and help save your village. Based on story-driven quests, you will explore a large variety of dungeons where you will have to fight against mythological beasts and discover the hidden truth behind the myths and legends.

The Legend of Iya

The Game:

Legend of Iya (it's pronounced Ee-yah), has been my never-ending passion project as long as I can remember. Beginning with early 8-bit computers, and stretching all the way to present day, the game has changed, evolved and improved over the years, from a simple 8-bit run-and-jump to something far more compelling. The game has seen at least half a dozen iterations, each time dying, but being reborn as some kind of a stubborn freaking phoenix.
