CHROMANCER: The Started Hare LLC Posted project update #8 An Art Update - Check Out These Amazing Pieces!

Hi Chromancer fans,
We're heading into our third day here at PAX, and we've made lots of connections and hopefully some new fans. The convention is going great -- we're in the Indie Megabooth area, alongside many other fellow Indie companies. The environment is wonderful, full of people who are all about fledgling ideas and companies trying to make great games.
The only drawback to having (virtually) the whole team on the showfloor all day, of course, is that we're not more active on our forums and in Kickstarter updates. We will definitely update you all on PAX specifically and what's been happening here pretty soon, and we'll have more playtesting and other content upgrades for next week, but in the meantime we want to give everyone a little treat!
As you know we are incredibly thrilled about our amazing game art (and we really need this Kickstarter campaign to succeed in order to get more of it!) One of our artists, Joshua Calloway, has done an absolutely phenomenal job with our 8 basic field cards. You've already seen two of them in The Workshop over at the site, but we thought we'd put together a Kickstarter update with all eight fields for your viewing pleasure!
Also if you like our art, don't forget to vote in our Facebook poll of Chromancer art (today is your last chance!)
Enjoy!

Final 24- A Bit of Business

We're headed into the last day of the campaign so I thought we should clear a few things up and talk about the post-campaign. People who intend to add to their pledge later should pay SPECIAL ATTENTION.
1. We will send out a survey within two weeks of the completion of the campaign. This will allow you to allocate your pledge dollars as you wish and provide us with all of your contact information. At this point you can also add to your pledge.
2. If you need to pay for some of your pledge via paypal, we will ask you to return the survey with a request for a paypal invoice in the comments section.
3. We will then begin taking "pre-orders" on our soon-to-be-updated website. Initially this will include most if not all options available through this campaign. We will reach a point sometime around November 1 or so where we'll need to shift to pre-order for retail-level only options because we'll be moving into production.

CHROMANCER Adaptive Strategy Online Trading Card Game: by The Started Hare LLC Update #7 · Aug 27, 201

We've Added More Prizes to our Reward Tiers!

Dear friends,
We've been chatting with a lot of our backers and potential backers about the reward tiers, and have listened to your suggestions. We spent some time trying to figure out how best to reward our early adopters -- to figure out what would make sense both for adopters and for the health of the game economy when we launch.
We are pleased to announce two things:
First, we are introducing a new limited edition Kickstarter set of cards to Chromancer. This set, called Kickstarter Exclusive, consists of all the same cards in our 300-card release set, but with special and unique card design. Theonly way to get cards from this set will be to be a Kickstarter backer. Once Kickstarter is over, we will not create any more copies of this set! The cards will be tradable like everything else, but of course will increase in value over time. Note that all of the already-existing rewards still include cards from our regular set, The Primeval™. The Kickstarter Exclusive cards are only available in the Kickstarter Exclusive booster packs being added to every tier as explained below.

【Project Phoenix】 Japan's indie RPG feat. AAA talent! by Creative Intelligence Arts, Inc.: Some stuff on the side... Update #11

Today's Kickstarter and Paypal total
Kickstarter $624,594
Paypal $7,582
Total $632,176
An update not related to Project Phoenix
I'd like to show everyone what I do besides being the Director and Producer for Phoenix, and what I'm capable of delivering with the people I work with. This is a promotional video for the game "Majin Station" by LEVEL 5. The animation is done by the same studio that does the Evangelion films, Khara (they are basically the same people from GAINAX who has taken over production of the series), and I co-ordinated, supervised and directed the music and SFX. The music is done by our very own Tomoki Miyoshi who will also be taking part with Project Phoenix.

Alum - (Atmospheric Point&Click Adventure)

A point&click adventure game with a mature "RPGesque" storyline. An atmospheric quest of epic proportions!
Our vision is to make an all new point and click adventure game with the same feel and vibe as some of the classic games we love (Quest for Glory, Roger Wilco, Monkey Island, etc..) but with our own "Epic" twist. Were using the same "old-school" resolution as those games

Expansion: Capital Ships/Crews in Epic Space Online

We're adding a new aspect to this MMO set in an Infinite Universe -- "Capital Ships" -- crewed by you and your mates.
"A top-down 2D shooter, that’s also a sandbox MMO, and space trading game. This is one of my favourite things about Kickstarter – it’s basically allowing for every mad genre cocktail to have an opportunity to be explored." - John Walker, Rock Paper Shotgun
Capital Ships are the Largest Ships in the Universe, requiring a crew of real people to manage easily.
Capital Ships are the Largest Ships in the Universe, requiring a crew of real people to manage easily.
Epic Space Online hosts players in a single universe with absolutely no borders or boundaries. You can fly in any direction in a procedurally generated universe.
The game is incredibly deep with too many aspects to cover at once, but anyone can scratch the surface and start flying, trading, and building space stations now. (Soon on the iPad)

About the Project:

We're going to be bringing Capital Ships to Epic Space Online. These will be the largest ships in the game and will require not just you to operate, but an actual crew of real people!

CHROMANCER :The Started Hare LLC Posted project update #6 Campaign Status Report

Campaign Status Report

Hello everyone,

We want to give you an update on how the campaign is going, what we are planning in the 3 remaining weeks, and what you can do to help.

So what have we done to date? Well, it's fairly self-evident if you're looking at our page! We've raised just a bit over $12.1k out of a total funding goal of $60k. That's 20%! Why is this significant? Well, one of the stats that we've read while browsing the all-knowing internet is the following:

Of the projects that have reached 20% of their funding goal, 82% have been successfully funded. Of the projects that have reached 60% of their funding goal, 98% have been successfully funded.

So we have 3 weeks to go, with (according to the statistics) a decent chance at making our funding goal.   Now just because the stats say one thing doesn't mean it'll happen by itself. There are a few things (well, more like many things) that we're doing to turn the momentum back in our favor, but there are also things that you can do, and that we need you to do!

What we're planning:
  • We just had a really great playtest today. More than 20 new players signed on and we played a bunch of games from 1-3pm. Feedback was good, mostly around user interface issues that we are already fixing and will be implementing in a couple of days.
  • In the coming week we will be releasing a host of new content, including the Lore section of our website, new artwork, borders, as well as the upgraded version of the UI. We will be hosting at least one livestream and possibly another playtest if we can fit it in.
  • On Wednesday, we'll all be leaving for PAX Prime in Seattle, which means we'll be a little light on updates for the following 5 days. However, we will be showing our game in the Indie MEGABOOTH to thousands of potential players, we have interviews set up with members of the press, and we'll be networking our butts off trying to get as much exposure for Chromancer as we can. The idea is to get as much press coverage as possible at PAX as well as players signed up and excited about the game in order to have a strong finish in the last 2 weeks of the campaign after we get back.
In the meantime we'll have a constantly developing game, we'll show our progress off, and hopefully we'll excite enough people that we'll crush this thing!

WARMACHINE: TACTICS Privateer Press Interactive Posted project update #43

FINAL TOTAL

Greeting backers! It's been almost two weeks since the close of the incredible and energetic WARMACHINE: Tactics Kickstarter. Since then, we have continued to maintain our PayPal support site at warmachinetactics.com, and as promised, I'm here to report our funding through PayPal and the combined total with Kickstarter.
Nearly 600 PayPal donors brought $49,884 in funding to WARMACHINE: Tactics, for a whopping grand total of $1,628,834!!! That's 296% of our original funding goal!
While this didn't get us to another stretch goal, the additional funds exceeding the Retribution of Scyrah stretch goal will all go toward making WARMACHINE: Tactics the best game it can possibly be and will get us closer to the implementation of the Spectator Mode & Replay Cam goal that much faster after the game launches a year from now.

【Project Phoenix】 Japan's indie RPG feat. AAA talent! by Creative Intelligence Arts, Inc.First musical update Update #6

Today's Kickstarter and Paypal total
Kickstarter $570,462
Paypal $3,127.56
Total $573,589.56
Music from Project Phoenix plays a large part in our game. There are several reasons to this, and one of the main reason is that I started out in this industry as a Music Director.
So today, I'd like to start off by talking to you about our core values of music in our game.
1) Music is awesome. Music can portray what picture can't and it gives colour to the very air you're breathing. The beauty is they are so much emotions that can be interpreted in many different ways by different people. It makes a scene memorable and gets gamers pumped for battle.
2) Music isn't everything. Time and time again, as a Music Director, I remind my composers that music isn't everything. Us, servants of music is always at the mercy of the "picture". We write music to "picture". We support and buff the picture to make the whole experience so much better. And of course, the picture means nothing without the game. In the end, we don't mean or amount to much without the game itself.
3) Less can be more. You really can't appreciate or know true happiness without experiencing sorrow. You won't know what loud is, without knowing soft. I believe that we shouldn't assault gamers with a tsunami wall of sound. Just because there's more people in the orchestra, it doesn't make the music more epic or awesome. Just because we're using silence, it doesn't mean we're lazy. We want to use "less" to good effect.
Now, building on this foundation, I've put together three excellent composers to compose for our game.
Nobuo Uematsu
For those of you who doesn't know, he is the guy who created the music to the majority of Final Fantasy series, Lost Odyssey, Blue Dragon to name a few. I respect many of his works as that has set a standard in music from JRPGs.

U55 - END OF THE LINE by Effective Evolutions

Deeply embedded in the mythology of H.P. Lovecraft, U55 – END OF THE LINE is an innovative horror game set in modern-day Berlin.
Sticking to the tried and true lore created by H.P. LOVECRAFT, we aim for an immersive urban horror experience on an unprecedented scale.

There is no escape!

U55 – END OF THE LINE is a survival horror adventure set in the subway system of modern-day Berlin. The game will be developed for Windows. Sticking to the tried and true lore created by H.P. LOVECRAFT, we aim for an immersive urban horror experience on an unprecedented scale. We want to recreate the classic “cosmic horror” setting of diabolical entities breaking into reality and bring it to life with the help of subliminal sounds. What humanity believes to be regulated by the laws of nature, is only true until nameless forces start swaying over the world.

Grim World: Gaming Supplement for Dungeon World & FATE Core

Beyond the class playbooks you can download today, we want the finished physical (and digital!) book to be bigger, better, and more menacing. The supplement will be compatible with any fantasy setting, but with a grim twist.

Abacus OS - Generates apps from literally thousands of APIs

Dear Friends,

21 days ago, we launched Abacus OS on Kickstarter.  At Clickslide, we want to make software simple.  Our ambition is to end fragmentation in all digital technologies.  If we can do that, it’s a revolution.

It’s difficult to understand software creation if you’re not a technical person. It’s the reason we're building something completely different. We think that machines should understand humans, instead of the other way around.

Some people just don’t believe we can do what we do and others tell us that the Clickslide concepts are too technical for them to understand.  If the latter is you, we apologize, because that was never our intention; our platform is meant for everyone.

Project Update #11: Day D+ 20 More Drop Armor and Designers Notes

Posted by Jim BaileyLike
105k! Another day, another stretch. We're starting to get into some really meaty freebies now in the form of specialist troopers. Let's get this campaign in gear!
I have just posted some designers notes written by John Roberts on the new characters from the Exclusive Pack #1 here on our blog. Check it out:

Everything I needed to know I learned from comic books.
Well, not really but there were some comic images that stuck really fast to my impressionable eight year old mind. I bought the two comics you see below from the rack at the local corner store: one in 1977 and one in 1978. These were DCs belated attempt to join the war effort :-) I of course went on to read alot of the DC war titles and Marvel Bronze classics like the Invaders. Later in life I started collecting actual Golden Age Timely and Fawcett classics including some early

CHROMANCER update #4

Gen Con Update, Alpha demo and lots more

TL:DR
Gen Con was great, we signed up lots of people who were interested and played our alpha demo. We'll be doing more playtesting this weekend for a limited number of people out of our kickstarter backers.  New Art, Lore section and more streaming on twitch coming later this week.
------

Hail loyal chromancers!

As most all of you know we have spent the past 5 days at Gen Con in Indianapolis. For those of you who are unaware, Gen Con is quite simply one of the biggest gaming conventions in the US.  More than 40,000 gamers attended this year, and a large portion of them were card- and board-gamers, which is exactly the kind of crowd we wanted to be showing the alpha version of our game to.
We ran an even throughout the convention, doing group demos and letting interested gamers get their hands dirty by playing against their friends, against other attendees and against the devs. Yes, some of them beat us at our own game, but these guys are serious card players after all!
Gen Con was an amazing experience and opportunity for us to connect with the people that will make up the early Chromancer community. The feedback was overwhelmingly positive, and most everyone was impressed at the depth of strategy and skill the game demands of its players. Several people came back two or three times for repeat matches! All in all, very successful with close to 500 people having signed up for new accounts. These will be generated tomorrow, and we of course hope to see a commensurate boost in our kickstarter backers as well.
Ok that’s great guys, but I wasn’t at Gen Con, I want to see the game, I want to see the ongoing development as well!
Ok ok, we hear you! Here’s what you can expect to see coming your way this week:

Alpha version demo session

Similar to what we did at Gen Con, we’ll be having a playtest session of our Alpha version of the game this coming weekend. We’ll release details closer to the event but suffice it to say for now that we will have the participants capped (probably around 50 people), it will be first come first served, and our kickstarter backers (that’s you!) will have first dibs on signing up. Further details will go out shortly in a backer-only update.

Lore !

We’ve talked about how we want our game to be fully integrated with our lore in order to create an immersive overall experience. The lore section of our site should be up and running soon and will feature some accompanying conceptual illustrations. Those of you who appreciate a good yarn and want the background of some of your soon-to-be-favourite-Hero characters fleshed out will enjoy this. We’re pushing hard to get this to you by the end of this week!

Card Art

We showed you Blood Dretch last update and for this one we have another nasty demon card, the infamous “Black Balrog”. For those of you that have had a chance to play-test with us at Gen Con, you’ll know this guy is one mean cookie and a pro at taking out Strongholds. We hope you enjoy the piece as much as we do!

JAPANESE HARDWARE FIRM Sony has revealed that it will announce thePlaystation 4 (PS4) release date on Tuesday at its pre-Gamescom 2013 press conference.
While Toys R Us has put the PS4 up for preorder with a 13 December release date, the gaming world has yet to hear from Sony regarding when its nextgames console will arrive on store shelves. The wait is almost over, however, as the firm has said that it will reveal the PS4 release date on 20 August.
